Eva VidalDr. Eva Vidal Dr Eva Vidal holds a master’s degree and a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC). She is an associate professor at the UPC’s Department of Electronic Engineering (http://www.eel.upc.edu/) and currently teaches at the Barcelona School of Telecommunications Engineering (ETSETB, http://www.etsetb.upc.edu/) and the University Research Institute for Sustainability Science and Technology (ISUPC, https://is.upc.edu/). She has been the academic director of the UPC’s Centre for Development Cooperation (CCD, http://www.upc.edu/ccd/) since 2012.

Her interests in research and teaching focus on the area of analogue and radio frequency electronics and on sustainable development projects in the area of information and communications technology (ICT). She has directed more than twenty international cooperation projects in the ICT area.

She is the representative of the UPC in the Municipal Council for International Development Cooperation of the Barcelona City Council and the person in charge of “V for Values” in the VISCA group (https://www.upc.edu/rima/ca/grups/visca-valors-igualtat-sostenibilitat-cooperacio-accessibitat). She belongs to the STEP-FIB-ETSETB group that reflects, investigates and publishes on issues related to the teaching of sustainability in the area of ICT.

She is a consultant for the Family and Adoption Institute (http://www.familiayadopcion.com/), where she performs knowledge management tasks. She has been part of the board of directors of the NGOs AFNE (http://afne.org/cooperacio/ong/) and NASCO (https://nascoict.org/ca/), which work for children in Ethiopia and Ghana, respectively, and she currently collaborates with several NGOs and organisations such as Doctors Without Borders. At the UPC, she has coordinated projects with African universities and has directed several cooperation projects in the ICT area.

She is the author of more than 50 publications related to her areas of interest, both in analogue and radio frequency electronics and in sustainability and sustainable human development in the ICT area. At the ETSETB and the ISUPC, in addition to teaching compulsory electronics subjects on undergraduate and master's degrees she has taught seminars related to sustainability and development (ICT4D) and students’ personal motivation and orientation.
