Dr. M. Rosa Estela is a mathematician who majored in Mathematics at the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) in 1989. She has a PhD in Applied Mathematics from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya · BarcelonaTech (UPC, 2005). Since 1992 she has been an associate professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the UPC’s Barcelona School of Civil Engineering. She has been the assistant director of the Barcelona School of Civil Engineering since 2007. She was head of studies for the degree in Geological Engineering from 2007 to 2012, head of studies for the degree in Civil Engineering in 2012 and assistant director of Innovation and Mobility from 2013 to 2016. Since 2016, she has been the assistant director of Mobility and Teaching Quality. She is currently the UNITECH programme director at the UPC.

Her experience spans educational innovation projects funded by the Catalan government, European projects and the UPC itself. She is the author of several books, one of which is published by Pearson Education and includes a course with interactive laboratories and exercises on Moodle. She is the coordinator of the MOOC project The Language of Engineering on the UPC’s MOOC platform.
