Ramon BragósRamon Bragós is Electrical Engineer (major in Telecommunications Engineering) (1991) and has a PhD in Electronic Engineering (1997) by the UPC. Since 1998 he is Associate Professor at the Electronic Engineering Department of the UPC. He belongs to the Electronic and Biomedical Instrumentation research group and to the Center for Research in Biomedical Engineering (CREB). His main area of research is the design of methods and systems for the characterization of biological materials and systems using minimally invasive methods, mainly electrical impedance spectroscopy. Among other applications he has worked on the characterization of in-vivo myocardial tissue and on measurement systems for cell cultures both in industrial and research applications. He’s been involved in technology transfer for control, biomedical, aerospace, and agro-food industry, being inventor on 13 patents, being or having been 5 of them in operation. He has participated in 20 competitive research projects, being PI in 5 of them and is co-author of more than 70 papers in indexed journals and more than 160 conference papers. From the academic point of view, he is co-author of 3 textbooks and has taught in the field of analog electronics, instrumentation, sensors, biomedical engineering and engineering projects. He was associate dean of laboratories of the UPC Telecom Engineering School (ETSETB-TelecomBCN) from 2007 to 2009 and since 2009 is associate dean of academic innovation, in charge of the implantation of the CDIO model for engineering education (www.cdio.org) and coordinator of the project-based subjects at Telecom-BCN. The design of these subjects obtained the award for Quality Teaching of the Social Council of the UPC and the Vicens Vives award of the Generalitat de Catalunya the year 2012. He was the general chairman of the 10th International CDIO Conference that was led in Barcelona in June 2014. He’s currently shifting his research field towards EER where he’s been working in Remote Laboratories and Project-Based methodology and is currently working in Design Thinking methodology with multidisciplinary teams.
